MONOCAST #6 - Mekas - March 2011

Juan Tomas Rosello an artist was born the 29th may 1985 at Bariloche Argentina. In his early beginnings, aged 18, he started working with Pablo Denegri, Enrique Casal a.k.a. Qik and Milena Pafundi for the audiovisual experiment TEKHNE, performing as live act and Djing around the Buenos Aires scene. He started collaborating with labels as Miniatura (Arg), Miniscule (USA), Little Bus (Arg), Esperanza Records (Spain), Dual Musik (Spain), Genesa Records (Serbia), woods and bass (colombia) and more, and became an active member of the Igloo Label and Aula Magna crew as well. Mekas played in various scenes such as One Dot zero festival(2007), Fiesta Ups!, We float, Levitar after hour, Airdrop, Fuga Oceanica, Casa Brandon, cocoliche and more. Mekas and Pablo Denegri became an interesting team, as individual artists who grew together an in the same direction. An example of their collaborating projects is the recording titled "Chakal", an insual album, featured by Igloo-rec. Hes currently living in Buenos Aires and performs his live set in Cocoliche, handled by the booking agency Malevo as one of the residents producers, Sharing gigs with Udolph, Violett, Dilo, Nico Purman, sr. replicante, Simbad, Nicolas Forster, Seph, Qik, Lega, Pablo Denegri, Joachim (belgium), Pfirter, jonas kopp, among others. Mekas is still working on future releases with all his colegues, such as Milena Pafundi, who made the artwork of his last album "Fuente", which will be released 2010 at Black Place, a sub label of Esperanza records focused specially in dub techno, handled by his owner Papol.

The work is a revisitation of all VST's Presets, Loops, samples and recorded sound events of the tracks released in the years 2010/2011 so to make a different arrangement that lasts around a hour and half of dynamics exhibition. Laptop, BCF2000,audio interface, inventiveness, imagination and dreams are the used means.

MONOCAST #3 - Insect Elektrika presents Fart Up To The Ceiling! (live) - November 2010

Insect Elektrika, one of the first Czech minimal live acts ever, has become already one of the icons on Czech scene. Its founders, Martin Vodicka and Jan Vaclavik, after first meeting in the high school, find out that except same humor they have another same hobby � music. For great enthusiasm into minimal music they decided to establish the project Insect Elektrika in the year 2002. Premiere live performance took place in the year 2006 at KLIKA party (organized by DJ Subsist) where guys reaped the first success and that brings a number of other offers for shows, for instance Subclub (Bratislava), Roxy (Prague) or Fleda (Brno). A year later, gentlemen released the first free EP on Wazzotic records and launched own minimal night called Bubbles, which successfully continues till today and has hosted lots great artists (such as Philipp Wolgast, Miss Sunshine, Easy Changes, Moog Conspiracy etc.). In 2008, released the second free EP, this time on the German label Vekton. The year 2009 is the year of change, since there is extension of the facilities for live performances and the light of the world sees more releases on labels Tracer Records Minimatracx Recordings and BWG records. Also present for first time their live performance in Germany, where enjoy great success. Their rapid rise in production is not suppressed in 2010, when the gentlemen release further releases on labels all over Europe (Monocline Records, Minimal and Melodies Music, Paria Records and Underscore). Live performance of Insect Elektrika are always very unusual, because guys love the experiments. Their sound is influenced by many producers and artists, mainly German, but guys certainly no secret that they give space to their feelings and moods, which make almost all their performances unforgettable.

MONOCAST #2 - Mike Wall - Promoset - October 2010

In the 90�s Mike Wall made first experiences with electronic music. In this years he started mixing tapes and playing his first gigs in Mecklenburg. But under the name Mike Wall he released for the first time on the record label Modulat in 2005 and thenceforth things were looking up for him. In the same year he played at the legendary Melt Festival and refurnished his studio. These changes brought a fresh wind in EP..s like �Loose Changes� or �She Comes� and let the production seems much more smooth and warm. For the variety in his sets he is known over the border of Germany, because even listeners in Italy, Spain, Greece, Austria and Swiss are enthusiastic about his dynamic sound. His vinyldebut was realeased on the london minimal label Safari Electronique in 2006, where he belonged to the core of producers asides Italoboyz, Delete and Arnaud le Textier. Since then a lot happened and he released on labels like smallroom music, Dilek, Lordag, Meerestief and his own label Orphik.With the foundation of Orphik Recordings he took a further step into independence and he began to pushes unknown artists and labels with the credo of having the best fun out of it. Although artists like Steve Bug had influencing control over him he found his own sound.The symbiosis of techno and groove lays perfectly in the warm baselines, but Mike himself not to rest. Further releases and long partynights are already planned for 2010.
